Hello! I'm Millie, a freelance editor and writer with 6 years of experience.
More About My Experience...

My freelancing journey began in 2020, while I was studying for my BA in Creative Writing and English Literature at London Metropolitan University. I began by line editing children’s fiction and non-fiction, eventually branching out to work on some adult genre fiction too. Soon after I graduated, I launched a literary magazine, Toil & Trouble, which publishes themed issues bi-annually on Ostara and Samhain.
In June 2023, I joined an award-winning independent children’s publisher, Sweet Cherry, and led multiple projects as both a Junior Editor then Development Editor. I managed a list of middle-grade fiction and non-fiction, but I worked on everything from picture books to YA fiction as well.
Although I loved editing children’s literature, my curiosity about adult fiction and non-fiction remained. Returning to freelancing gave me the best of both worlds, and now I do it full-time! As well as working with publishers, I also work directly with authors who plan to self-publish or submit to agents/publishing houses.
I have completed The Publishing Training Centre's Introduction to Editorial Skills course.
